Twin Cities July 4 Events
If you're in the market for homes in Minneapolis or Saint Paul, you might just find yourself settled in your new home in time for one of the most exciting events of the year: Fourth of July celebrations throughout the Twin Cities!

Although not Revolutionary-era cities, both Minneapolis and St. Paul have been around since the mid-1800s. That has given them lots of time to develop their reputation for some of the best Fourth of July festivities anywhere in the United States.

You'll uncover all kinds of opportunities to participate in a truly patriotic bash!

Let's look at some of them right now:

  1. Red, White & Boom (July 3 and 4)
Twin Cities in Motion is a local organization that organizes races and fun runs for all levels of participant throughout the year. In addition to its usual schedule of 5K, relay, and half marathon events, it is known far and wide for Red, White & Boom!

This event is the cornerstone of a two-day festival that caps off with an evening fireworks show over the Mississippi River. Racers start and finish in beautiful Boom Island Park, Minneapolis, after tackling a route that goes through the city's scenic parkways.

Those who finish (with any time) are invited to the Finishers Grill-Out, where they can enjoy hot dogs, drinks, and picnic activities. Vegetarian options will also be available. You don't want to miss out on a photo to commemorate this big achievement!

  2. Bloomington Summer Fete (July 3)
Normandale Lake Park is the site of this splendid family-friendly kickoff to Independence Day celebrations. The biggest draw? A complete carnival including two stages of live music and inflatable attractions for the kids. It all closes with a spectacular fireworks extravaganza.

  3. Eagan July 4th Funfest (July 3 and 4)
Eagan delivers its own awesome "Independence Day Eve" carnival starting early in the morning. There's also a bike parade for the Twin Cities' dedicated cyclists. On the 4th, you can witness the "Back with a Bang" Parade and car show. Food, fun, and fireworks will be enjoyed by all.

  4. Eden Prairie's 4th of July Hometown Celebration (July 3 and 4)
The Eden Prairie event has the energetic carnival atmosphere and great fair food you expect but goes a step further with lots of outdoor events. These include a 5K race, pickleball tournament, kayaking, and even log rolling. Fireworks are set to begin around 10 in the evening.

  5. 4th of July at Langford Park (July 4)
If you're looking for a traditional July 4th parade, this is St. Paul's premier (and only) option. The morning kicks off with a distance run, followed by one of the most colorful and creative parades in Minnesota. Music, games, and lots of family fun round out the day.

  6. Historic Fort Snelling Independence Day (July 4)
Fort Snelling has stood since 1819. Originally named Fort St. Anthony, its duty was to guard the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers. Today, it's a National Historic Landmark that showcases a 4th of July celebration based on traditions from two centuries ago.
