Mason-Jar Christmas Gifts - Counselor Realty

There's just something comforting about a gift in a Mason jar. From homemade preserves to a jar full of holiday mints to a hand-dipped candle, a Mason jar presents just the right note for casual holiday gift-giving. Whether you're a crafty type or want to give a low-key but unique offering to a friend nearby in Glenwood homes for sale or Maple Grove homes for sale, the gift in a Mason jar encourages letting creativity run wild—but without breaking the budget.

Ready to see what holiday gifts you can put together in a jiffy with a Mason jar, some ribbon, and some ingenuity? For starters, you'll need wide-mouth jars and lids. Now let's get going!

  1. Pedicure in a Jar
A Pedicure in a Jar is a great gift for one of your gal pals just because, or as a party favor for a shower. Assemble pedicure supplies individually or buy a set in a drug store or dollar store. Even if it's already packaged, it may look pretty in the Mason jar. Print or buy some pretty labels for the top.

  2. S'mores Mason Jar Gift
The season for S'mores may have passed in Minnesota, but there's no harm in invoking this camping staple as a holiday treat in a jar. Get some Golden Grahams, holiday M&Ms, and mini marshmallows. Mix them up in a bowl, and voila! An instant fun gift for your kids' teachers. Here's a link for some cool tags. Get some twine. Wrap it all up, and you've got S'mores in a Mason Jar

  3. Mason Jar Peppermint Candles
Making candles is such fun—and what could be better as a holiday gift? Use up the candle, and you've got a nice jar for storing stuff. Never made candles? Here are some easy instructions. We suggest you go soy. It burns cleaner and doesn't pollute the indoor air as much as paraffin candles. Just melt the candle wax, mix in the peppermint scent, and pour it into the Mason jar. Tie some red-and-white striped ribbon around the mouth of the jar, and you're good to go.

  4. Nutcrackers on Top of Mason Jars
Aren't we all crazy about nutcrackers for Christmas? Happily, there's a way to incorporate the beloved nutcracker motif into your Mason jar gift scheme. Besides the jars, you'll need mini nutcrackers from a craft store; red, mint, and white spray paint; hot glue; and treats to fill up the jars.

Instructions: Remove the fuzzy beards; spray paint several coatings; spray paint lids white. After the paint is dry, hot glue the figures to the tops of the jars. Fill the jars with popcorn drizzled with red-tinted white chocolate. Sprinkle crushed peppermints over the white chocolate before it sets. Throw in some popcorn and whole peppermints. There you have it: Nutcrackers on Top of Mason Jars.

  5. Gifts in a Jar
There's no end to the gift ideas you can come up with to load into a jar. Just think about the person you're sending a gift to. Do they like cocktails? Load a jar with liquor samples and recipes for a Mini Bar in a Jar. Create a Sewing Kit in a Jar with a measuring tape, thread, needles, buttons strung on embroidery thread, safety pins of several sizes, mini scissors, thimble, needle threader, and more. Hot glue a pin cushion on top and affix an eye-catching label. Let your creativity flow.
