National Soft Pretzel Month is celebrated in April, so why not visit local restaurants and breweries in the Twin Cities to enjoy their chewy, salty goodness? You'll find many old-world-inspired varieties, including some updated flavors, so have fun deciding which types you like best.     Germany is known for its pretzels, so it's no surprise that the owner of Aki's BreadHaus founded his restaurant to bring the taste of freshly baked pretzels and other baked goods from his home country to the Twin Cities. His business has grown from selling solely at a farmer's market to opening a brick-and-mortar bakery in northeast Minneapolis. The bakery is located in a nice modern space and offers a variety of traditional pretzel shapes, sticks, and buns, as well as breads, rolls, and pastries daily.

  2. New Bohemia Wurst + BierHaus - 222 7th St. W., Saint Paul, MN 55102
    If you'd love a pretzel made by hand in the traditional German style, New Bohemia Wurst + BierHaus can satisfy your craving. Order an appetizer of a giant Bavarian pretzel with pepper jack cheese, but you'll probably need to share it with friends or family.     Day Block Brewing Company     believes in the power of good food and good beer, and to achieve that goal, they use fresh, local, and organic ingredients. The craft beer and food are made in-house, and all dough is made from scratch. Try an order of either one or two pub pretzels served with cheddar cheese and stone-ground mustard sauces.
