Heading to a Minnesota Twins game at Target Field? If you're looking for a restaurant with a local feel described as a cross between the village pub and a sports bar, head to The Loon Cafe. Although it can get busy before and after Twins games, the service is excellent, so you can be in and out quickly. Make sure to try the restaurant's award-winning chilis, including the hearty Pinto's Diablo Chili, which is medium spicy despite its name. The Pecos River Red can be ordered in your choice of three levels of spiciness and combines lean cubed sirloin steak, onions, Tex-Mex spices, and chili peppers and is topped with sour cream, cheese, and onions. And don't forget to order a Grape Ape cocktail for a refreshingly sweet drink.

In the mood for a delicious pizza, bowl, hoagie, or pasta dish? Pizza Lucé hits it out of the park with its creative menu. Customers love The Fire Breathing Dragon Pizza, topped with sweet chili sauce, spicy jerk chicken or tofu, pineapple salsa, green onion, mozzarella, and smoked gouda. Or go with the simple yet tasty pie that started it all—The Lucé, loaded with Italian sausage, fresh garlic, onion, and lots of mozzarella.

For lunch, try the Manhattan Luncheon Steak, an eight-ounce sirloin served with au gratin potatoes, or Murray's Original Steak Sandwich, made with strip sirloin steak, bacon, and provolone and served on sourdough bread. For dinner, splurge on the Silver Butter Knife Steak for Two, a 28-ounce strip sirloin carved by your table. Nolo's Kitchen & Bar specializes in modern American comfort food served in a refined neighborhood tavern atmosphere. The food is delicious but not pretentious since the restaurant prides itself on using ingredients (often local) that your grandma can pronounce. Pasta dishes like Ricotta Gnocchi are created using pasta made in front of guests at a chef's table, and the restaurant's award-winning burgers are made with Peterson's ground beef from a local farm. For entrees, head to the sleek upstairs area, and if you'd like to stick to bites and beers, enjoy the downstairs bar.
Gluek's Bar & Restaurant - 16 N. 6th St., Minneapolis, MN 55403
Gluek's Bar & Restaurant, founded in 1934, is downtown Minneapolis' oldest bar and is also the home of Minnesota's oldest beer label—Gluek's Pilsner Pale Lager. The old-world beer hall has plenty of German-inspired dishes like Grilled Bratwurst and Schweineschnitzel Spaetzle, a center-cut pork loin topped with marble rye bread crumbs, topped with cream sauce and fresh scallions and served over buttered spaetzle (small dumplings). Plenty of local and national beers are also available.
