Calling all pizza lovers! The second week in January is an exciting time you won't want to miss. It's National Pizza Week! In celebration, we urge you to visit a local pizza shop in the Twin Cities area. Many of the best pizza shops put a unique twist on their pies. Here are a few top spots we think you'll love.

Pizzeria Lola is a great place to stop for a pie after a long day of looking at Minneapolis homes for sale. The owner is from Korea, so several of their pies are inspired by elements of Korean cuisine. The Korean BBQ pizza is a true fan favorite. It's topped with beef short ribs, mozzarella, scallions, arugula, and a soy-chili vinaigrette.

Eat Street Crossing Ouro Pizzaria is a Brazilian restaurant that puts their own twist on pizza. They do have a classic Margherita pizza, and it's incredible. But where they really shine is with their specialty pies.

One favorite at Eat Street Crossing is the Shrimp Portuguesa pizza. It's topped with shrimp, hearts of palm, chopped eggs, onion, and a pico de gallo vinaigrette. If you prefer a vegan pie, try the Paulista. It's topped with mashed potatoes, vegan cheese, corn, pico de gallo, and shoestring potato chips.
