Journey Through the Twin Cities: 5 Key Destinations to Explore | Counselor Realty

There's so much to do and see around the Twin Cities that you'll need a twin bucket list to keep track of it all. Check off a few boxes during National Bucket List Day on Wednesday, April 24 with a visit to these wonderful places near Minneapolis homes for sale and St. Paul homes for sale.

  1. Minneapolis Sculpture Garden - 725 Vineland Place, Minneapolis, MN 55403
Explore the whimsical side of art at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. More than 60 sculptures from the Walker Art Center collection convert an 11-acre urban greenspace into an outdoor gallery. One of the newer additions is Shadows at the Crossroads, a seven-part collection-within-a-collection spotlighting important but overlooked figures in Minnesota history. Enhance your visit with content available on the Bloomberg Connects app. Hours are 6 a.m. - midnight daily, and admission is free.

  2. Weisman Art Museum - 333 E. River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55455
From the outside, the quirky contours and angles of the Weisman Art Museum resemble a building from a Tim Burton movie. Once you walk inside the door, you'll find yourself in a world where community and connections are fostered through creative expression. More than 30,000 works of art in all types of media are organized by "American Art," "Ceramics," and other descriptive categories. Use the StoryMap to find additional artworks around the University of Minnesota campus. WAM is open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

  3. Guthrie Theater - 818 S. 2nd St., Minneapolis, MN 55415
Sterling K. Brown, Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, and Bill Irwin are only a few noted performers who have trod the boards at the legendary Guthrie Theater. Since the curtain went up in 1963, the Guthrie has been a resident theater offering professional productions of classic and new plays as well as an educational facility where teens, college students, and adults can hone their acting craft. Each year, theater-goers look forward to the traditional holiday production of A Christmas Carol. Visit the website to view the current calendar and ticket prices.

  4. Como Park Zoo & Conservatory - 1225 Estabrook Drive, St. Paul, MN 55103
Decisions, decisions. Spend the day at the zoo or touring the gardens? No need to choose when you visit the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. As a popular recreational area for more than a century, beautiful Como Park was a natural choice for the location of the outdoor entertainment facility. Zoo exhibits include Tropical Encounters, a replication of a rainforest featuring turtles, frogs, an anaconda, and Chloe the Sloth. The conservatory is a collection of stunning indoor and outdoor gardens, such as the Palm Dome, a 64-foot tall crystal structure filled with palm trees, orchids, and bromeliads. Visit the website for seasonal hours. There is no admission fee, but donations are welcome.

  5. Wabasha Street Caves - 215 Wabasha St. S., St. Paul, MN 55107
Caves in the city may sound like an urban legend, but there's nothing imaginary about the Wabasha Street Caves. The attraction's appeal is enhanced by its colorful past as a gangster hotspot during the Prohibition Era. Rumor is that the caves are haunted by victims of mobster violence. Cave tours and gangster tours may be taken separately or combined as a package. Visit the website for schedule and pricing.

Our bucket list has a single entry: helping you with the successful purchase or sale of a Twin Cities home. Call today for more information.
